First Day of Daycare a Success

My first day of daycare went very well.  The teachers told Mommy about how I had been such a good baby.  I was happy and played with the other babies.  Hopefully my second day goes as well.

I was worn out by the time I got home.  I went to bed sometime between 8 & 8:30 and I didn't get up until 7:00 this morning. I woke up a couple times during the night, but just long enough to cry for a minute and then go back to sleep.  Mommy didn't sleep well last night anyway, with the remnants of the hurricane going through, so she heard my every cry.

I was happy when Mommy dropped me off at daycare this morning, so we'll see how things go.

First Day at Daycare

Well, Mommy dropped me off at daycare for the first time today. I hope everything goes well, and so does Mommy. Everyone seems pretty nice.

Over the past week, I've been working on my ability to crawl. I can almost do it. I'm able to move my arms and legs the way that I'm supposed to. I can only take one or two "steps", though. I'll be getting the hang of it soon!

I also have figured out how to go from lying on my belly to sitting up. Mommy even got me on film doing that! The link to the film is: http://www.cybersunbeam.com/baby/downloads/situp.zip . It's a 10MB file, so if you're on a dial-up connection, I don't recommend downloading it.

Not much else is happening. I'm growing really fast!

Went to Kentucky this Weekend

Nana came down on Wednesday and we went up to visit Aunt Ann in Kentucky.  We left on Thursday morning.  We stopped at Milligan College and visited with Dr. Carter and Mr. Barkes.  Then we went on to Kentucky.  I did really well on the trip.  I got fussy a few times, but it wasn't too bad.

I got to meet Brandon's niece, who is a little bit younger than me.  She didn't want to play, though.  Then we went to a festival on Saturday morning.  It was pretty fun.  I got to pet a little puppy and I saw a horse.  I really liked the puppy, but the horse wasn't very interesting.  It just stood there.  Mommy wouldn't let me pet it because she was afraid I might scare it.

On Saturday afternoon, we went to Ohio so I could see Grandfather.  He watched me while Mommy and Nana went to the store.  I enjoyed my time with him, even though I didn't get to spend much time.  We left Ohio at 11:00 on Sunday morning and went to Wytheville.  I saw Uncle Mike and briefly saw Aunt Brenda and Jenni & Ryan.

Nannie Ruby and Papaw Frank brought me and Mommy home.  We left Wytheville around 4:00 and I got home around 6:00.  I was so happy to get home and see Daddy again.  I think Allex wasn't really happy to see that Mommy brought me back.  He's a jealous puppy!

I'm Trying so Hard to Crawl!

I can get up on my hands and knees, but I just can't figure out what to do next.  I can rock back and forth, but that's it.  I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon.  It couldn't be that hard.

I was a really good baby yesterday for Mommy.  I played in the floor with my toys almost all day.  Mommy didn't have to entertain me much at all.  I wish that the dog would play with me, though.  I think he is the neatest thing in the world, even though Mommy won't let me get my mouth on him.  She says he's dirty.  I really like go grab his beard and ears.  He doesn't seem to mind too much.

I'm with Ms. Jennifer today.  I won't be able to stay with her much longer.  I'm going to start going to the day care center on the 27th.  I hope they're as nice as Ms. Jennifer is.

I'm 5 Months Old!

I turned 5 months old on Friday!  I'm growing so fast!  I'm trying my best to crawl.  This past weekend I started pushing up onto my hands and knees.  I can't seem to move from that position, though.  I'm able to rock back and forth, though.  Right now, I prefer scooting across the floor by pushing with my feet and burying my face in the floor.

My teeth are also bothering me a lot here lately.  I'm chewing on anything and everything I can.  I hope they come through soon!

Last day at Ms Jennifer's

Well, today is my last day at Ms. Jennifer's house.  Mommy and Daddy are going to have to put me into day care starting the 27th.  With Daddy's new job, it is just going to be too hard to send me to Ms. Jennifer's house.  I'll really miss not playing with Jamie, but I'll have plenty of other boys and girls to play with at daycare.  Mommy and Daddy are going to put me into daycare at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church.  It's close to home and where Mommy works, so it will be easy for Mommy to drop me off and pick me up on the way to and from work.  I'm really rather indifferent about the whole thing.

Mommy and Daddy are really nervous about leaving me, but everything should be ok.  We've still got a little while before I have to start staying there, but it's getting very close.

Two More Days....

...Until I turn 5 months old! It's amazing how fast I'm growing! I'm becoming more dexterous and developing my personality. I'm (in general) a very happy baby, but I do have my mood swings. :) I try to get my little hands on anything I can. Yesterday, I was trying to pull the network card out of Mommy's laptop while she was working.

Other things going on...
This past weekend, we went to Virginia. Mommy & Daddy went to the Hillsville flea market on Saturday and left me with Nana and Great Nannie. I had a good time. Mommy bought me some ponies (for when I'm older) and some Dr. Seuss books. Then I spent most of Sunday with Granny and Poppy. I had a good time then, too! I also got to see cousin John and Krista and I met one of Granny's cousins. Sorry, I can't remember her name.

Monday and yesterday, I spent all day with Mommy. Yesterday, we had a tornado warning and it scared Mommy. She had to clear out the bathroom so that we could hide there if the tornado hit. One did hit about 3 miles down the road! We were lucky.

I'm spending the day with Daddy today. We're going to go and check out a day care center this afternoon, too. With Daddy's new job, I'm not going to be able to stay with Ms. Jennifer. So, we are checking out a few day care centers in the area.

Going to Have to Lose the Sleep Positioner

Up until now, when Mommy has put me to bed, she has always put me down in the sleep positioner to make sure I didn't roll onto my tummy while I sleep.  Well, I've figured out how to roll over even with the positioner.  This morning when Mommy came in to check on me, I was on my tummy and the positioner was up near my face.  It scared Mommy because I could have smothered myself with it, but I was ok.

We are going to Virginia again tomorrow.  I'll get to see both sets of grandparents again!  Mommy and Daddy are going to the flea market in Hillsville on Saturday, so I will get to stay with my Nana.  I just hope that all the excitement this weekend doesn't mess me up when we come home.

I'm a Little Snot

Quite literally.  My nose is still a bit runny, and it makes it hard to breathe.  That makes me cranky.  And when I'm cranky, I make life difficult for everyone around me.

I stayed with Daddy yesterday.  He said that I was rough and that I wore him out.  I think he was exaggerating, but that's another subject all together.

Mommy had trouble getting me to eat last night.  I just didn't feel like cooperating.  I ate about half a jar of peaches, but then she was trying to get me to go to sleep and I threw it all up (all over Mommy).  I screamed and yelled for about 30 minutes before Mommy was able to get me to sleep.  Then, in the night, I managed to wriggle free of my sleep positioner.
